CARISSA
AMBERLY PRESS RELEASE
July 4, 2007
Carissa Amberly, a young rising star of country music,
will be performing each day at the Great American Trucking
Show (GATS) in Dallas, Texas from August 23-25, 2007
at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m..
This will be her second year at GATS as a spokes lady
for Trucker’s Complete, a health and nutrition
supplement company. Fifteen year old Carissa, who won
first place in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame
talent showcase in 2006, will be performing songs from
her CD “Letters” and a variety of other
country songs, as well as a number of trucking classics.
A love for truckers and country music flows naturally
in Carissa’s veins. She was inspired into singing
by her truck driving and steel guitar playing grandfather,
Curley Green. Although Grandpa Curley is her angel of
inspiration, her talent was discovered and presented
to the trucking and radio world by music and broadcasting
legend Bill Mack on his XM Satellite radio program,
“The Open Road Show”. Last year, her pre
album release song, “Some Heroes Don’t Come
Back” was chosen as the Dynamic Discovery on The
Overdrive Top Ten Countdown, hosted by Bill Mack and
presented by Overdrive Radio Network’s Diana Davis.
Carissa was recently honored to be the first country
music entertainer interviewed by Larry Shannon, host
of Overdrive Trucking News and co-founder of the Texas
Radio Hall of Fame. Mr. Shannon’s interview with
Carissa will air the week of August 20th through 25th
which coincides with the Great American Trucking Show.
Carissa asks that you stop by the Trucker’s Complete
booth #23109 across from Shell Oil so that she can personally
thank you for the tremendous support truckers have given
to her dream to become a country music entertainer.

Carissa's
grandmother Lucille Green, a Trucker's Complete customer,
contacted us a while back looking for some original
Bill Mack songs for Carissa to consider for her upcoming
CD. We didn't think much of it at that time, because
most grandmothers naturally think their granddaughters
are the greatest. But once I finally went to her website
and listened to her demos, I knew Lucille wasn't just
being a proud grandmother, she actually had a talented
singer in the family. I called everyone into my office
here at Trucker's Complete to listen to this young woman
sing and even the Rock-N-Rollers were impressed by her
maturity of voice at such a young age. |

Last year, Carissa at
the age of 13 was the first runner up at the Texas Country
Music Hall of Fame Talent Showcase in Carthage, Texas.
She currently sings every Sunday evening at the Louisiana
Jamboree in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was chosen to
sing to the soldiers at Barksdale Air Force Base in
Boosier City, Louisiana on September 16, 2006. |
